Welcome to our family owned and operated horse facility. Here at Phoenix Farms, you are provided with a wealth of horse sense and experience, offered by trainer/manager Rick DuBay. Rick comes to you with more than 40 years in the horse business, as a professional trainer. Rick began his career in the AQHA pleasure/confirmation arena and quickly began training reining, and cutting horses. Within his career, he has been highly successful with both young and aged horses, as well as youth and amateur riders, in which Rick has taken to “all round high point status” (both at a State and National level).

Rick DuBay, himself, has won and judged numerous major events across the county, including the All American Quarter Horse Congress. In 2001, Rick moved his training business to a horse facility on the East side of Michigan to work for his daughter and son-in-law. The training facility includes 1 indoor and 3 out door riding arenas.(1 equipped with permanent cattle pens), 30 horse stalls, 6 very large turn-out paddocks, 1 large wash rack, 2 tack rooms and a heated observation room with viewing to watch the indoor and out door riding arenas. This is all on 40 acres, 13 of which is wooded for a relaxing trail ride. In 2002, Rick expanded his career toward “The Foundation Quarter Horse Registry”, It was within this association that Rick rode the 2004 “ High Point and Versatility” Open Division horse for Michigan with 12 year old gelding Fonda Doc.Also, within 2004, Rick's daughter tied for “High Point Reserve Champion” in the Amateur division riding 6 year old gelding, Missing Nothing, at the National Show in Nebraska .

At the Same time Rick's grandson won “1st runner-up Versatility” winner in the youth division on mom's gelding Missing Nothing.

In January 2005, Rick became an approved judge for Foundation Quarter Horse Registry. You can easily see that our business is a family affair. We pride ourselves in consistently displaying Honesty and Integrity
